RDM Welcome Sign Project
Our community was enhanced in 2014- 2015 thanks to the commitment and outstanding efforts of RDMIA member, Melani Freitas who took the lead and raised over $13,000 from business and individual donations for beautification. Funds supported the Esplanade roundabout project and the new welcome sign on Rio del Mar Blvd at Clubhouse Drive, previous home of the Whaley Memorial.

Inspiration was drawn from the original forged iron semi-circular design of the Rio del Mar neighborhood sign erected when the community was first established in 1928-29. Working with local construction firm, John Fuchs Construction, the project got under way which included design, building, solar lighting and landscape.
Many thanks to John and his crew for donating labor and overseeing the construction and to RDMIA members Melani Freitas and Patrick and Caroline Kelley who facilitated the signage project completion.
