In 2013, Patrick Kelley, RDMIA director proposed renewed landscaping at the off ramp next to the Arco Station with the letters “Rio del Mar” placed on the brick wall. Patrick worked closely with Cal Trans to get permission for the improvement permits which had not been done before. Member volunteers helped complete the project for a refreshed first impression upon arriving in Rio Del Mar.
